If you are experiencing any problems with your Iolite portable vaporiser please follow the steps below. If problems persist, please contact the store where you bought it or contact our Iolite expert.

Venting the Iolite vaporizer (for when you can’t get your Iolite to ignite).

1. Make sure the unit is OFF (the switch should be at the 0 symbol). Turn the unit upside down and point away from your body.
2. Using the small end of the handtool (from the original box), depress the gas valve and let all the gas dispel, ensuring you keep your hands clear of any liquid gas spraying from the valve. This may take up to 30 or more seconds.
3. Refill using a recommended butane* brand and leave for five minutes. It should only take a few seconds to fill (two to five seconds). As soon as gas sprays back, it is full.
4. Turn on the unit, the switch should be at 1 on the unit, and listen for a hissing sound.
5. If you hear the gas flow, press the igniter. You may need to try two or three times before it will light.

Filling and emptying the chamber with your chosen blend.

The chamber for your blend is the small unit which is attached below the mouthpiece. Please remove the mouthpiece then wiggle the chamber gently to separate it from the main unit. It is recommended that you do this with the Iolite upside down (i.e. the mouthpiece pointing down), as this will avoid your used blend spilling out.

Do not pack your blend too tightly in the chamber as this reduces the Iolite’s effectiveness and may affect how easily the chamber can be removed.

Refilling the Iolite with Butane

1. Hold the Iolite in one hand with the gas valve at the top
2. With your other hand hold the butane can upside down
3. Position the butane can perpendicular to the filling valve
4. Press down gently but firmly
5. Filling should take between two and five seconds, as soon as it sprays back the iolite is full.
6. Leave the Iolite for at least five minutes before attempting ignition.

The average temperature achieved by the Iolite is 190 degrees centigrade (or Celsius). The equivalent in Fahrenheit is 374 degrees. This is the unit’s optimum operating temperature, which is achieved by using the recommended butane (see below). If you use other types of butane, this optimum temperature may not be achieved.
